Added services

I am currently studying Reiki and Animal Reiki so I hope to add those services to the business soon. I felt they might enhance the business if I had someone who, for whatever reason, couldn't manage a deep tissue massage. I have just received an order for more of my melts but as well as her Victorian Posy one she requested another subtle flowery one so I designed her one called Rose Delight. Originally I intended calling it Rose Dreams but once I had smelt the finished product I felt that Rose Delight fitted better, My client agreed with me when she received it and said she loved it as much as the Victorian Posy one. I love to get positive feedback like this it makes it all worthwhile.

Just jogging along

I am continuing to treat my regular clients and picked up one or 2 new ones recently. I ended up treating a dog the other day as it had scratched all its hair off in several large patches. It had been backwards and forwards to the vet who is sure it is an allergy of some kind but has no idea what. The owners were desperate to try something else and as I treat a family member and have been for quite a while for terrible sores on his legs which have dried up well they decided to engage me in the dog's treatment. I haven't had an update yet as they have only had cream, shampoo and oil for a few days. I will let you know how it all goes once I know myself. I find it very exciting that I can offer herbal treatments to animals too.

Last festival of the year

Well just completed my last festival for 2018 and as usual it was a busy weekend. Picked up several new clients who were very pleased with their treatment. As we are coming up to winter now, despite at the moment feeling like summer, people are beginning to think about getting their creams and lotions in ready to treat all their aches and pains that arrive with the cold weather. I imagine I will soon get Christmas orders coming in too

Last Festival for the season

Orders and bookings are coming in thick and fast for my final festival for this year. Dark nights and cold weather is kick starting people to deal with all their aches and pains to hit the winter months in the best possible shape. I am sure my customers will continue to ask me for treatments for new problems that will keep my brain active. I am looking into herbal remedies to treat animals as I hope to move onto a smallholding of my own soon and want to stick to healing my animals the old fashioned organic way as much as possible. Exciting times ahead

Back to work

After taking a few months off not going to any festivals with the business I have now gone back and done 2 weekends back to back. It was nice to catch up with previous clients who were all pleased to see me. One more festival to attend before we call it a day for the winter.

I have picked up a few new customers who are happy to come to the house and my regulars have continued to support me. I am sure now we are coming up to winter there will be a drive to get plenty of hand cream in and as the dark nights draw in people will be looking for some relaxing massages.

News for next year

It is beginning to look as though I may not get to any festivals next year due to personal reasons but I will still be continuing to create and mix herbal products to post to people. I am steadily building a strong regular customer base who are happy to come to my house. It took a while to move from mobile to fixed but customers are beginning to build again. It will soon be Christmas so I will probably be busy making gifts again once people begin to think about their present list

Just ticking over

I have gathered a few more new customers lately having been recommended by existing customers. 2 ladies travelled over 80 mile round trip for a massage each and said they would be back so I must have done something right. I continue to be set different challenges as people contact me to make them a bespoke herbal product to help with a problem that they or someone they know is experiencing. I have an order for more aromatherapy melts for next week so they will have to be  made within the next few days. Christmas is coming so I imagine I could very well be quite busy over the next few months getting the orders made up. Last year I had several friends who bought the aromatherapy melts gift basket containing an oil burner, melts and tealights in a basket. The only problem is that it is a very delicate item and I haven't worked out a way of getting them delivered so people are having to come and collect them. That is fine if they are friends as they come and have a day with me and we put the world to rights but doesn't work if people are not seeing me personally. I only designed it late last year so maybe I will get several more orders that  need to take to our last C & W festivals of the year. I could very easily be very busy over the next 2 months as people begin to think about Christmas presents

New Clients

I have suddenly got some new clients who are going to be wanting massages every 2 weeks and I received a call from someone who I had done a massage on at a festival asking if her and her friend could come for a massage. They only travelled nearly 40 miles! She took 2 lots of cream back with her for other people and ordered a box of melts which I had to post out to her. She has since sent me an email saying her melts smell divine. I have had to design a cream for aching knees for someone who is doing a charity bike ride in 4 weeks London to Paris. 4 weeks intense training begins this week. Rather her than me I can tell you.

Heal thyself

For over 20 years in fact nearly 30 years I have been taking HRT as I had a full hysterectomy when I was only 28. For a while now my doctors have been nagging me to come off it so 6 weeks ago I agreed. I had hoped that as I was over 60 I wouldn't have the normal menopausal issues such as bloating, hot flushes and itchy skin but unfortunately I did. I didn't want to give in and go back on artificial hormone replacements so I decided I would try and develop myself a natural herbal cure. The first thing I had to decide was did I do a cream, lotion or oil. In the end  went for a lotion as I felt I could use it as a moisturizer at the same time and put it all over my body to absorb through the skin. Next I had to work through my oils to decide what might work for me. A while ago I made up an oil for people to use on the pulse points when they felt a hot flush coming on so I took that as my base but added a few more bits to the recipe to regulate and top up my hormones by stimulating those glands that I still have to produce some extra hormones naturally. All that went into a lotion and I now use it twice a day all over my body. I certainly seem to be sleeping better as I am not having the disturbed nights now that my body seems to be naturally controlling its temperature mind you the weather has cooled down too so that might also be helping. The forecast is for it to get warmer again at the weekend so I will see how good it really is then. In the meantime, touch wood, it seems to be helping. My skin doesn't feel so itchy, mind you regular moisturizing might be helping that and on the whole I feel much more positive with more energy. Probably getting a good nights sleep will be helping with that. Anyhow on the whole I seem to have found something that works for me

Update on news

I am finally back to picking up the pieces of my blogs. There have been several changes over the last 6 months that have taken some adjusting to. I can no longer drive now as my sight has deteriorated so much and will likely continue to do so but I can still do my massages as I do them by feel and I have made big labels for my bottles so I can see what I have in them. I have rearranged my room so that I can manage better and am enjoying welcoming clients to my home instead of going to their homes. I have needed to cancel some of the festivals as I have been involved in hospital appointments but I will be Hurworth and Eggborough in September and Kelso in October. Next year will see me cutting down on the number of festivals again as I am finding them quite stressful as my sight leaves me. I have drafted a friend in to help me this year and possibly next year but at the moment I am unsure what the future hold for this activity. In the meantime I can still make up lotions and potions and can be contacted via the website, by email or by telephone and am happy and able to offer advice and solutions to all your problems

2018 Festival Lineup

I have completed my negotiations and finalised the festivals that I will be attending in 2018. My next task is to work out how to put the list on to the website as last years was done by the website hosts as we built the website. This year I am on my own! I begin by attending Sweetwater Run at Easter, Rattling Rails at Eggborough Power Station at the end of April, May sees me at Phoenix Linedancing festival at Hurworth near Darlington, Kelso and then Winchester Gentlemans near Preston, June is Kickin Country at Belford, nothing in July, Heart of England at Uttoexter Racecourse in Aug, the second Phoenix at Hurworth and Great Yorkshire back at Eggborough in September and finally the second Kelso in October

Christmas orders

I have 1 gift basket to make and then I am up to date with all my orders so I can relax and enjoy Christmas myself. I will not be working after the 20th December until I return back to my regular customers on 2nd January 2018 a welcome break for me. I have prepared a number of new treatments for new customers who have given me positive feedback so I guess I am still on track to fulfill my goal to assist people on an individual basis.

End of the season

I have finally finished the festival season and have had a reasonable season. Next year is looking as though it is going to be an even busier 1. I have several gifts to put together this week ready for people to collect as and when they are in the area. Hopefully there will be more orders to come in the next few weeks. I need to firm up my planned festivals and then get them listed on to the website. I have now got the online shop up and running

Long time

I am so sorry it has taken me so long to get back to you all and a catch up on all that has been happening. We now have the online shop up and running a few more items that need adding but the bulk of our products are on there. I hadn't realised how many I had actually created and I continue to get requests to create a bespoke cream or lotion to help with certain conditions. I have added tealights and aromatherapy melts as well as liquid soap to my gift section and it has been suggested that I create a gift basket containing a burner, tealights and aromatherapy melts for people to purchase as presents so that is my next project. I have developed 4 general fragrances Winter Spice, Victorian Posy, Citrus Burst and Sensual Musk. All are very self explanatory and available in the melts, scented tealights and liquid soap. I could also incorporate them into bath oil too if requested. My daughter has asked me to over and teach/assist the grand daughters to make soaps for them to give as presents to their friends for Christmas so I will have a go.

Life continues

This has been a rather busy week I have now moved all my regular clients to evening so this has resulted in me being out every night this week with 1 more massage tonight. Next weekend sees me attending a new festival for me at Uttoxeter Racecourse called the Heart of England. Next year I will be joining it to one this weekend called the Blue Rodeo at Stratford upon Avon with a few days chill time between them. After several requests I am going to try my hand at making purely natural aromatherapy melts to add to my growing repertoire of creams, lotions and potions. I am now considering setting up an online shop on here so people can in fact purchase things direct. They will have to wait whilst I make things as I am determined to make sure everything is made fresh for the customers and to their own bespoke recipe. I am currently waiting for my parcel of sweatshirts and polo shirts to be delivered so that I can send them up to my lady who does all my embroidery along with my final few towels that missed the last shipment that was sent to her

Herbal treatments update

After my last 2 festivals my cream that I originally designed for people waiting for knee operations has been hijacked by anyone with pain in or around joints to the extent that  ran out of jars and had to take orders. I went to this last festival prepared and I hadn't been there 24 hours and someone came and ordered 3 large jars of cream and 1 middle sized one as it had proved such a success with the whole family. Think I am going to have to get myself some little paper carriers to put orders in. I have now renamed the cream to 'Zee's Magic Cream'. I need to put in another order for my base shampoo, shower gel and bath foam as I have now got orders for more of them. Whilst researching how to make sun screen and after sun lotion (which I have now designed if anyone wants to order some) I came across suggestions on how to make moisturizing cream for different types of skin so that is my next project

Herbal treatments

I was surprised to find that my insect repellent was such an instant success and was inundated with orders for further supplies for family and friends of the original customers. I also designed a mix for someone who had circulation problems so my herbal treatments are gaining quite a following. I have had quite a lot of success with my arthritis cream too but this weekend saw me mixing some up for someone who really didn't believe it could help his knee to have him announce over the microphone that the cream I had done for him had worked wonders and he had remained free from pain for nearly 6 hours. He in fact said that from now on I was going to be known as the witch of the country music festival scene. I now have several orders to put up before I head off to another festival this weekend.

Failed in my duties

Unfortunately due to such a huge amount of work that has been flowing through both the business at home and the festival trail of which I have had several successful weekends I have failed in my duties of keeping up with my weekly blogs! I have done a great many massages since I last posted and have had several requests for oils and creams. My dog/cat flea/tick treatments have flown off the mixing shelf so much so that I have now invested in new green bottles for animal treatments so that people do not get mixed up as several people have treatments for both themselves and their pets. It has been suggested that I offer a pet treatment service at those festivals that I will be outside the main arena or if people want the service at those that I am inside I can treat them in their owners caravans or motor homes. Already I have been asked to work on a dog that keeps dislocating her hip alongside her owners so they are all booked in for their 1st joint monthly treatment in a couple of weeks.

Festival News

It has been a rather busy but successful few weeks and I have now taken on further festivals to ply my trade. Hopefully I will get round to adding these new festivals to the list on here as well as getting the diary up and running. I seem to be trying to run through treacle at the moment but will eventually get there. On the positive side I continue to get great feedback from very satisfied customers. I am now picking up bookings for the next few festivals including the next festival at Kelso in October
